SITHOBELA – The stage is set for inspiration and transformation as the Sithobela Youth Society hosts the second edition of Mr and Miss Sithobela on 6 September 2025. With the theme “Beauty with a Purpose for a Sustainable Thoba City,” the event goes beyond pageantry to empower young leaders in the community.
Open to young people aged 17 to 25 from the Sithobela Inkhundla, the pageant is designed to promote self-confidence, leadership, and social responsibility. “The pageant is about more than beauty, it’s about purpose and personal growth,” said Mbali Masilela, the Society’s Chief Operating Officer.
Now in its second year, the event provides participants with a platform to showcase not just talent and presence, but also intellect and community commitment. Contestants will develop skills in public speaking, leadership, and writing, preparing them to become future changemakers.
Past winners have gone on to partner with youth organizations and spearhead local projects. This year’s edition hopes to continue that legacy, encouraging participants to become role models and advocates within their communities.
Community involvement is central to the pageant’s mission. Parents are encouraged to support their children’s participation, while local businesses and organizations are invited to offer sponsorships or resources. “We are open to sponsorship,” Masilela said. “Anyone willing to assist can contact us at 78684035.”
With a modest registration fee of E20 and a deadline set for 10 May, the initiative remains accessible to all eligible youth. While the venue is yet to be announced, the anticipation surrounding the event continues to grow.
More than a contest, Mr and Miss Sithobela is a celebration of youth empowerment, vision, and community pride—building tomorrow’s leaders, one contestant at a time.
